Laura Wittke, MS RD is a registered and licensed dietitian, holding a masters degree in educational psychology from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She considers herself a “born dietitian” having known this was her life’s work since 8th grade. Her long-held mission is to empower individuals to achieve their health-related goals, and she works to help people improve their current physical, mental and emotional health through improved nutrition, developing positive skills that lead to resilience, self-responsibility and well-being.
She started one of the first diabetes support groups in Nevada in the early 1990’s, and she is a firm believer in prevention of chronic disease through good nutrition. Her work experience includes community nutrition education, renal nutrition, and prevention and dietary treatment of disordered eating, with particular expertise in fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and the other manifestations of autonomic nervous system dysfunction. Her approach is holistic, using modalities from nonviolent communication, integral theory, and interactive guided imagery.
She is the owner of Practical Wellness LLC in Atlanta, GA where she works with a diverse population to improve health outcomes. She has a dream of empowering other dietitians to deliver appropriate medical nutrition therapy to people with fibromyalgia and other ANS dysfunction who have fallen through the cracks in the medical system.
